Different Types of Physical Therapy

Physiotherapy is the treatment method that aims to restore, maintain and make the most of a patient’s function and well-being. In practice, this treatment is divided into two distinctive methods, active and passive physiotherapy.

Passive physiotherapy is the treatment method that does not require the patient to move their muscle and joints. This may be because a patient’s muscles are still too weak to complete certain exercises or that the patient is still experiencing too much pain or discomfort.

Active physiotherapy, on the other hand, is a step up from passive methods. The patient will begin to actually use their body and muscles and actively engage in the treatment method.

At ACC, our physical therapists are highly educated healthcare providers who work closely with your doctors to monitor your conditions. A physical therapist’s role is to assess the client and then guide them through the exercises that would best suit the situation.

Our team of experts will work with you to help minimize or overcome the effects of illness and injury. There are many different types of programs we offer at ACC.

General Physical Rehabilitation

Musculoskeletal conditions affect your body’s muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments, bones, and nerves. The pain and discomfort caused by these conditions can create limited physical functioning and affect your overall quality of life.

Our team of doctors and physical therapists will develop individualized treatment plans for patients experiencing:

  • Chronic pain
  • Herniated or prolapsed discs
  • Sciatica
  • Sport injuries
  • Reduced endurance
  • Reduced strength
  • Balance problems
  • Orthopedic trauma

Our main goal is to improve your strength and mobility so you can feel better for the long term.

Neurorehabilitation

Neurological rehab is a program designed for people with diseases, injuries, or disorders of the nervous system. Stroke is the most common disease that affects the brain and its function. This type of rehabilitation aims to have the patient relearn activities such as walking, standing, and other everyday activities to maximize their quality of life.

ACC is the first and the only clinic in Vietnam that offer the Pneumex PneuBack programs in rehabilitation. This 7-step-protocol program is developed not only to address post-stroke conditions; but also chronic pain associated with sciatica, and herniated discs.
