The atmosphere at ILA Nguyen Van Cu – Hanoi was more vibrant than ever last weekend as many parents and students gathered for a special event. Far from a typical extracurricular activity, this was a “golden opportunity” for parents to gain deeper insights into their children’s musculoskeletal development during the crucial growth stage of 6 to 15 years old.
Professional and Modern Screening Process
During the session, the students experienced a comprehensive examination process from the ACC team:
- Foot screening with modern Podo technology: Using a Podo foot pressure scanner to analyze the structure of the sole of the foot, early detection of flat feet syndrome – a common condition in Vietnamese children that can affect the knee, hip, and spine if not treated promptly.
- Spinal examination: Certified technicians from ACC conducted examinations, assessed the balance of the shoulders and hips, and identified preliminary spinal deviations such as hunchback or scoliosis caused by incorrect sitting posture while studying.
- One-on-one consultation: After receiving the results, ACC spent time explaining the details to each parent. Advice on home exercises, choosing appropriate footwear, and correct sitting posture while studying helped parents gain a more comprehensive understanding of how to care for their children.
“Prevention is Better Than Cure”
Musculoskeletal misalignments in children often develop silently and are difficult to detect with the naked eye in their early stages. Regular screenings not only facilitate early detection but also significantly increase the chances of full recovery through conservative, non-surgical, and drug-free methods.
