There are many types of arthritis; Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) \u2013 an autoimmune disease that causes your immune system to attack your joints is one of the most common form of arthritis, along with osteoarthritis (OA) \u2013 a gradually developed condition caused by wear and tear on the joints.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The symptoms of arthritis include:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>Joint pain and stiffness.<\/li>\n<li>Swelling and inflammation in and around the joints.<\/li>\n<li>Warm red skin over the affected joint.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Arthritis can affect anyone, but certain factors put a person more at risk than others.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>Past medical history \u2013 an individual has a history of RA or OA has a higher chance to recurrences.<\/li>\n<li>Genetic factor as some types of arthritis run in families.<\/li>\n<li>Age being the cause of many types of arthritis, risk of which increases with age.<\/li>\n<li>Environmental factors such as toxic substances including insecticides, silicone; industrial chemicals and pollution, can trigger arthritis flare ups.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In addition to that, individuals who suffer from Gout have a higher risk of developing arthritis later in their lives.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Arthritis can lead to severe and complicated outcomes without proper treatment. In some cases, a person can recover from arthritis just by changing their diets, increasing their physical activity level and avoiding stress\u2013however, these are just mild cases. Often, treating arthritis would require more efforts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Depending on what type of arthritis, treatment methods may vary. You also may need to try several different treatments or combinations of treatments in order to determine what would work best for you. As interim, taking medications may still be a recommended treatment for arthritis which could potentially cause other side effects. In addition to that, palliative cares can also be provided to relieve pain and symptoms.
