\u201cMy back pain<\/a> started over 20 years ago and recently I experienced some difficulty in walking with my hammer toes condition, especially when wearing shoes. For a long time, I have gone to many hospitals for help and often take medication for pain relief. The medication could not actually heal my injury, and only temporarily stopped the pain for a while and then it would return, over and over again. The symptoms were getting worse and the local doctor suggested that I go for a surgery. I was quite terrified of being cut and started looking for another alternative treatment instead. Fortunately, a colleague of mine suggested for me to visit ACC where her back has been treated successfully. I listened to her and met a doctor of Chiropractor \u2013 Dr. Erik Waardenburg<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Dr. Erik very kindly and carefully explained my situation from the root cause to the symptom. After a detailed consultation, we figured out that I have a 70-80% flat feet condition which leads to the bunion (hummer toe) and spine imbalance. Like most people, I would not even think that there would be any relation between foot and spinal health. The truth as I finally learned is that the feet is the foundation of the whole body, and a fallen arch cannot provide stability when we walk to support the entire weight of the body. So the feet and spine have very close association and any misalignment affecting one can impair the function of the other.<\/p>\n

Dr. Erik prescribed orthotics designed to correct my feet problems and relieve the pain. I also followed a care-plan of 15 sessions including chiropractic adjustments<\/a>, physio therapy<\/a>, DTS<\/a> and laser<\/a> treatments. Chiropractic is the main treatment as Dr Erik shared that \u201cWhen we correct the spinal structure, it would mean correcting the whole body function. Chiropractic adjustments help with the back, knees and feet, by specific motion and alignment of the spinal structure\u201d Dr. Erik said.<\/p>\n
